Step into another world and experience the natural beauty, architecture and culture of one of the only Chinese gardens outside of Asia.
Initiated by the local Chinese community to share their rich cultural heritage and celebrate Australia\'s 1988 Bicentenary, the Chinese Garden is the result of a close bond of friendship and cooperation between the sister cities of Sydney and Guangzhou in Guangdong Province, China.
Immerse yourself in the stunning landscape featuring waterfalls, lakes, exotic plants and hidden stone pathways. And then unwind in the garden Teahouse with a drink and light refreshments.
The Chinese Garden of Friendship is open daily from 9.30am to 5pm excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day.
Adults $6. Children (under 12 yrs) $3. Family (2 adults & 2 children) $15.
Background
The Garden was designed and built by Chinese landscape architects and gardeners, and is governed by the Taoist principles of \'Yin-Yang\' and the five opposite elements - earth, fire, water, metal and wood. These principles also stress the importance of Qi, the central force of life and energy.
