Formerly the Rendezvous Studio Hotel on George (ca 1990)

Located at 103 George Street.

Now operated by Great Southern Hotels, this stylish hotel was previously part of the Rendezvous Hotel Group and prior to that was The Marque Hotel Brisbane, and before that the Chifley on George.

History

This hotel has serviced Brisbane visitors since 1990. In the early days it was known as Chifley on George, before being renamed The Marque Hotel.

The latest name change coincided with a brand-rejuvenation program which was undertaken to revitalise the Rendezvous Hospitality Group.

Building stones used in the pedestal

Five rectangular pillars stand out at the front entry to the hotel, which are cladded with a green chlorite-altered granite of unknown origin.

Apparently no other building stone was used on the actual building.
