History:
This skyscraper, developed by Cbus Property and designed by Architect Woods Bagot, contains 41 A-grade commercial floors and rises 259.8m above ground to roof (including antenna spire) and top of roof reaching 179.1m. It The building design targeted a 5 Star Green Star V3 Office Design and a 5 Star NABERS (Base Building) Energy rating. The building was developed for the Queensland Government as part of the government's plan for a renewed Government Administration Precinct and to meet it's accommodation demands.
In early 2017 the building houses 19 full departments of the Queensland Government, on lease from current owner Cbus Property. The site was formerly bisected by Short Street and comprised a number of different allotments and uses. Buildings occupied the area as early as 1854 and it was used for a variety of functions including; manufacturing, warehousing, shipping, housing, and electricity generation.
The Queensland Government began purchasing the properties in the 1960s as part of their Government Precinct development scheme and began demolishing the existing buildings, some dating to the 1850s. Short Street was closed and all of the site was amalgamated
