History:
The Grant Thornton House was built by the Commonwealth Department of Works to serve as the Reserve Bank in 1973. It incorporates 11 levels at a total height of 40 m.
Building Materials:
Highly polished white marble with abundant veins is used for facing the columns and facade of the entire building. The white marble may have originated from Chillagoe in North Queensland.
