In line with a great deal of Aboriginal tradition and language the word Jungara has many different meanings. Jungara is the name of place surrounding the local mountainside homestead acreage of Jungara Gallery founder Mr Peter Von Brunschot. Jungara is also the indigenous name for a beautiful native hard wood timber tree also known as the black bean tree and in NSW the word Jungara represents the Pelican Dreaming story.
The layered meanings of the word Jungara is synonymous with the Aboriginal art and culture represented by Jungara Gallery.
