King George Square - Brisbane
Gallery
URPoint Details
King George Square is today a thriving hub of open-air events and a great meeting place for locals and visitors alike.
Facing onto King George Square is the famed Brsibane City Hall and across the road is the Spectacular Gothic style Wesley Uniting Church -- today the city's most popular site for wedding services.
The new design has created a space that reflects the historic values of the city, as well as King George Square's evolving role as a destination, transit hub and ceremonial and civic heart of the city. Gone are the small raised lawns and fountains (which had been turned off because of drought water restrictions, anyway) and in is a major lookout and meeting platform, beneath which is a great coffee shop/restaurant and giant-screen televisions tuned in to relevant current events.
Located adjacent to Brisbane City Hall, King George Square makes an ideal outdoor venue for events and functions. Go to the Brisbane City Council website for details and bookings.
