Portrait of QACC President Beny Bol OAM presented

It was a profoundly moving and rare experience, filled with wisdom, inclusion, harmony, generosity, genuine kindness, and respect, brought to us by the 80-year-old Chinese artist Yumin Yang. Beny-Bol-portrait-by-artist-Yumin-Yang

She graciously chose to paint the President of the Queensland African Communities Council, Mr Beny Aterdit Bol OAM, after meeting and listening to him a year ago. The remarkable portrait was officially unveiled recently during the ceremony at The Art of Embroidery, hosted by Jenny Gao and Peter Zhuang from the Rotary Club of Sunnybank. This rare acknowledgment and recognition showcased an exceptional display of humanity and multiculturalism by an elder.

The African community, along with the broader multicultural communities, is immensely proud of Yumin Yang for demonstrating extraordinary leadership and a profound humility that unites us all. A heartfelt thank you to our legendary MC, Lewis Lee OAM, our friend Alan Chen, and all the diverse CALD leaders and elected officials who came out to support this annual event.
