URPoint Details

Two RAAF Wirraway aircraft, on a training flight, collided over Moreton Bay on February 13, 1942, killing all four pilots and crew.

 

One of the aircraft came down in this area of Ormiston area, close to Cleveland Cemetery. The other came down in Bay Street Thornlands, now known as Ziegenfusz Park.
